EPI® (Percutaneous Intratissue Electrolysis)

An ultrasound-guided invasive physiotherapy technique that applies a galvanic current through a sterile, non-cannulated needle, producing a controlled local inflammatory response that promotes phagocytosis of degenerated tissue and stimulates the biological processes of tissue repair and regeneration.

Technology EPI® Reference equipment our team works with.

About this technique

A galvanic current is applied directly to the affected tissue through a sterile needle, using ultrasound guidance to locate the injury and make the procedure more precise.

It is mainly used for certain tendinopathies and soft-tissue injuries. It forms part of an individual physiotherapy programme, usually combined with therapeutic exercise and progressive loading to support functional recovery.
