Physiotherapy

About this area

A discipline focused on the prevention, assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and functional disorders, supporting recovery and the optimisation of physical function.

We specialise in Advanced and Sports Physiotherapy, with techniques pioneered in the Canary Islands.

  • Specialised: pelvic floor, TMJ, osteopathy.
  • Advanced: dry needling, INDIBA® radiofrequency, EPI® percutaneous intratissue electrolysis, ultrasound-guided invasive neuromodulation, radial and focused shockwave therapy, K-Laser® high-power laser, Zimmer® super inductive therapy.

How we work in Physiotherapy

Manual therapy

A specialised area of physiotherapy that uses advanced manual techniques to assess and treat joint, muscle, fascial and neural disorders in order to reduce pain, improve mobility and restore the function of the neuromusculoskeletal system.

Dry needling

Dry needling is an invasive physiotherapy technique that uses solid, sterile, non-cannulated, single-use needles to mechanically stimulate myofascial trigger points, with the aim of modulating pain, normalising neuromuscular function and improving the functional capacity of the musculoskeletal system.

INDIBA® ACTIV

A radiofrequency technology that stimulates tissue regeneration, speeds up functional recovery by activating cellular and tissue biological mechanisms, reduces pain and improves vascularisation.

EPI® (Percutaneous Intratissue Electrolysis)

An ultrasound-guided invasive physiotherapy technique that applies a galvanic current through a sterile, non-cannulated needle, producing a controlled local inflammatory response that promotes phagocytosis of degenerated tissue and stimulates the biological processes of tissue repair and regeneration.

Percutaneous invasive neuromodulation (PNM)

Percutaneous application of an electrical current through a dry-needling needle placed under ultrasound guidance close to a peripheral nerve or a related structure, with the aim of modifying the excitability of the nervous system and altering afferent and efferent transmission.

Radial and focused shockwave therapy

A non-invasive technique that uses high-energy acoustic waves to treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Its therapeutic effect is based on mechanotransduction, a biological process through which a mechanical stimulus applied to the tissues is converted into biochemical signals that trigger cellular responses. These responses promote neovascularisation, stimulate cellular metabolic activity, encourage collagen synthesis and reorganisation, improve tissue regeneration and help modulate pain.

K-Laser® high-power laser

A non-invasive therapy that uses high-intensity light energy to modulate pain and inflammation, supporting tissue repair and functional recovery.

Zimmer® super inductive therapy

An advanced technology based on high-intensity electromagnetic fields of up to 3 Tesla, far more powerful than those used in conventional magnetotherapy. This high intensity allows the magnetic field to penetrate deep tissues effectively, including bone and neuromuscular structures, without direct contact with the skin.
