Physiotherapy

Dry needling

Dry needling is an invasive physiotherapy technique that uses solid, sterile, non-cannulated, single-use needles to mechanically stimulate myofascial trigger points, with the aim of modulating pain, normalising neuromuscular function and improving the functional capacity of the musculoskeletal system.

About this technique

Dry needling involves inserting a sterile needle, without injecting any substance, directly into myofascial trigger points: sensitive areas of muscle that can cause local or referred pain.

Applied after a physiotherapy assessment, it aims to reduce the sensitivity and pain associated with these points. It can be combined with manual therapy, therapeutic exercise or other advanced therapy techniques to support functional recovery.
