Low back pain? Keep moving
Low back pain is the second most common reason, after the common cold, for visiting a primary care doctor, affecting young people and adults alike
Minimally invasive medical treatments that aim to stimulate the biological mechanisms of tissue repair, regeneration and remodelling, and to modulate pain, using biological resources capable of activating healing processes at cellular level.
About this technique
Musculoskeletal tissues have a natural ability to repair themselves, driven by biochemical signals, growth factors, repair cells and tissue regeneration mechanisms. However, in certain injuries, degenerative processes or situations of chronic overload, this ability may not be enough.
These therapies act on the cellular and molecular processes involved in healing, promoting the regeneration of structures such as bone, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. Unlike treatments aimed only at controlling symptoms, regenerative medicine seeks to support the biological recovery of the injured tissue and optimise its capacity for repair.
At Akro we use treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), obtained from the patient's own blood, and prolotherapy, based on injecting specific solutions to trigger a local biological response. Whether they are indicated depends on the diagnosis and the characteristics of the injury.
